Victoria Sun

Secretary and App Developer, Student Ambassadors program

Chinese American pianist Victoria Sun made her concerto debut at the age of nine
with the Qingdao Opera Symphony Orchestra in Qingdao, China. Since then, she has
performed with orchestras including the Orchestra Collective of Orange County and
the San Francisco International Music Symphony. Furthermore, Victoria’s selected
major recitals include performances in Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, Chiesa Santo
Spirito, Acqui Terme, Italy, Zipper Hall, Christ Church Cathedral, and Steinway Hall
at Field’s Piano in CA among others.


In addition to public performances, Victoria’s most recent competition
accomplishments include 1st prize winner at CAPMT OC (California Association of
Professional Music Teachers, Orange County), Young Musicians Concerto
Competition, GOCAA San Francisco International Music Competition, MTAC OC
Theme Festival (2019, 2020, 2021) and 2nd place winner at MTAC OC (Music
Teachers Association of California, Orange County) concerto competition, and 3rd
prize winner at the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition. Along with
competitions, Victoria attended music programs such as Vancouver Piano Sessions,
the InterHarmony International Music Festival, and the Junior Chamber Music
Orange County. Victoria also performed in a special Steinway event with the pianists
of Duo Amal at the Zipper Hall in Colburn School.


Victoria is currently studying with Dr. Myong-Joo Lee. Her previous teachers include
Joan Lai, Ning An, Dmitry Rachmanov, and Beatrice Long. She has also participated
in master classes with notable pianists such as Alexander Kobrin, Boris Slutsky,
Michelle Cann, Christopher Taylor, Alexei Volodin, and Baruch Meir.
