where classical music intertwines with inner awakening

Vancouver Piano Sessions brings together passionate musicians and music lovers in an intimate festival setting. We create spaces where artistic excellence meets community connection, fostering meaningful musical experiences through performances, masterclasses, and educational programs. Our holistic approach embraces both artistic growth and personal well-being, while honoring the diverse cultural fabric that enriches our musical community.

Vancouver Piano Sessions is an international event which takes place in the beautiful and vibrant city of Vancouver, Canada. Our inaugural festival was held in August of 2023, and we are thrilled to announce our 2026 edition, which will take place between July 31st and August 12th of 2026. This intensive twelve-day program will showcase brilliant performances by our students, world-class teaching by our artist faculty, and recitals from our renowned guest artists. Additionally, VPS is proud to offer a Mindfulness program for musicians to enhance their festival experience. The community program offered by VPS gives all citizens of Vancouver the opportunity to learn about and experience the beauty of music. The Reconciliation Sessions foster a sense of unity and respect the traditions of all people.

Venues include the UBC Robson Square, the Sutton Place Hotel, and the Christ Church Cathedral. All venues, including accommodations, are located in Vancouver's downtown core, which boasts an endless variety of wonderful dining and entertainment. The majestic Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains surround the city offering wonderful scenic day tours for all participants.

Students will receive lessons, masterclasses and performance opportunities during the intensive ten days of study as well as  a wonderful immersion of diverse talent and artistry from around the world. Concerts of internationally acclaimed pianists will be featured in our showcase recitals, providing an opportunity for the local community to enjoy a taste of what we have to offer. Please come and join us for this special event in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Vancouver has the third largest urban Indigenous population of any Canadian city. In recognition of this, VPS acknowledges the significance and necessity of hearing the voices of Indigenous communities. Through our active collaboration with Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations artists, we aim to facilitate an open dialogue between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities that interact with, learn from, and listen to each other.
We look forward to welcoming you in 2026!
