Spakwus Slolem, the Eagle Song Dancers of the Squamish Nation, perform songs, dances, and ceremonial traditions led by Elder S7aplek (Bob Baker), co-founder of the ensemble, residential school survivor, and a cultural practitioner who has carried his Nation's traditions from the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics to the Montreux Jazz Festival. VPS participants join with Western classical works performed in dialogue with the Eagle Song Dancers. All are welcome.

Two of the most respected pianist-teachers of their generation lead this afternoon's masterclass. Alexander Korsantia, Gold Medalist of the Arthur Rubinstein Competition, brings the artistry that has made him a frequent guest at Tanglewood and Verbier, alongside his teaching at the New England Conservatory. He is joined by Spencer Myer, Professor of Piano and Chair of the Piano Department at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, whose refined, singing tone has brought him as soloist to The Cleveland Orchestra and to a Wigmore Hall recital debut.

As part of VPS Reconciliation Sessions, Anjeanette Dawson (Spelex̱ílh) — traditional wool weaver, knowledge keeper, storyteller, and Indigenous educator of the Squamish Nation — leads a hands-on weaving workshop open to festival participants and the public. A daughter of residential school survivors, Dawson has devoted more than two decades to reviving and teaching the nearly lost tradition of Squamish wool weaving, a craft rooted in over 10,000 years of cultural practice. Participants will learn to weave using a loom while discovering the history, teachings, and healing power that this ancient art carries forward.
