Ricky Zhou (17), from Irvine, California, is a student engineer and pianist who, above all, sees engineering and music as complementary disciplines built on creativity and precision. He has contributed mechanical design and CAD work to a nationally recognized solar-powered vehicle in the Solar Car Challenge, and as a pianist has won competitions including the Beijing International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2026.
