The festival culminates this evening with a Gala Concert at Christ Church Cathedral, as the six winners of the VPS Concerto Competition take the stage alongside the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra under the baton of its founder and Music Director, Maestro Kenneth Hsieh. Open to pianists regardless of festival enrollment, the competition draws exceptional young talent from across the country and beyond — and tonight, its winners perform major concerto repertoire with full orchestra in what promises to be an unforgettable closing to VPS 2026.
